GOOD WITH YOUR HANDS? TRAIN IN JOINERY.
The Joinery Pre-Trade programme is really popular because it is known to get people an apprenticeship and job.
Good with your hands and have an eye for detail and precise measurements? Then Joinery is perfect as you get to work on panel products and the wooden components of buildings like stairs, kitchens, doors and fittings.
As a graduate, you will be qualified to work as entry-level joinery, furniture making, boat building, and aluminium joinery and in the retail sector of the building and construction industry.
NMIT students also do well, strongly represented in the regional and national Apprentice of the Year competitions.
If you are aged between 16-19 years of age you may be eligible to apply for Youth Guarantee with NMIT, which provides you with FREE fees on select courses.
If you are of Māori descent in Marlborough check out the Whenua Kura Trust partnership with NMIT providing fees free study for those up to 40 years old.
The 2020 programme starts on 24th February at the NMIT Nelson campus, and applications are open now.
